Meditation for Overcoming ALL! from adhd, aging, to anxiety

I have been finding great calm in breathing and meditating to grow my OWN roots deep during this storm of unknowings.  I feel so blessed to have had many teachers in meditation during my life. Especially in my 20’s when I was really able to go live free and focus on my spirituality. Oh to be free and young again, I’ll pretend!!

 After numerous teachers, types of meditation and breathing, all that matters really is taking the time to sit, go inside, and just be!  I am stoked this extra time has helped me to instill the first 21days. This personal time will once again be a habit going forth in my life!

As an ND I have to find what will be the most efficient simple change we can incorporate to correct many diseases and aspects of health. Meditation hits all the boxes!

Why is Meditation so essential?

It actually can reduce cortisol!!  We don’t have too many ways to do this that aren’t in a bottle. so it’s free here for those of my patients that are adrenal fatigued, or overstressed insomniacs, to overwhelmed mood disorders,etc.  Meditation can calm all these triggers of excessive cortisol.  (Not to mention how it can help avoid putting on the extra pounds from that high cortisol, aka the “Cortisol Spare Tire”!)

Meditation also helps:

  • Focus, Concentration, ADHD
  • Reduce Blood Pressure and stress hormones
  • Regulates heart rate and strenghtens the cardiovascular system.
  • Prevents premature brain aging!

When breathing is added we also will:

  • Cleanse the blood
  • Strengthen Lungs 
  • Improve Digestion
  • Reduce pain

One of the really cool neuro benefits of Meditation is the ability to sharpen your auto thoughts.  This practice can shut down the chatter, these scientists coined “monkey-brain” in your random thoughts and keep you focused.  When you shut off the wandering you will prevent overthinking, worry, and basically a less happy mood.  Having total control of your thoughts, can really empower you like never before!
