Dancers and Hypermobility syndromes

I was trained by a CIA spy, who was behind the iron curtain. LInda Smith was an US agent in Russia during the Baryshnikov era. Then ballet was an integral part of the Inner Circle of government. She was so talented to be taught by Baryshnikov’s teacher! I’m very rare in this country ss a second-generation Baryshnikov trained ballet dancer. For over ten years of my life, I know that helped me be a bad ass and keep going no matter what! Linda Smith instilled great respect, drive and a force to succeed. My first taste of what passionate discipline can result. I am so grateful for the grace and strength she beat into me. Even with the butt whips, bloody toes and really old vinyl classical music! Still miss that smell of rosin!

Hypermobile Spectrum Disorder may be an issue for:

  • Ballerinas,
  • Yoga instructors
  • Circus de Soleil dancers
  • Exotic dancers
  • Dancers of all kinds
  • Contortionists

So if this is you LISTEN UP My dancing sisters!

Please know if you are extremely flexible then you are flexible everywhere.

Your organs, nervous system, cardiovascular system, gastrointestional system and more!

We can be an enigma to even the best physicians.

HSD can be due to other diagnosis’ i.e. hEDS hyperflexible Ehlers Danlos or Marfan’s syndrome.
Here are a few issues, but not all, you may have that meet the criteria for these hypermobile (hyper-flexible) syndromes:

  • AutoImmune Disorders
  • Tempo Mandibular Joint Syndrome (TMJ)
  • Mast Cell Activation syndrome (MCAS)
  • Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia syndrome (POTS)
  • DysAutonomia or dysregulation of your autonomic nervous system
  • Dizzy
  • Migraines
  • Brain fog
  • Gastrointestinal problems of all kinds
  • Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
  • Flexible Clumsy.

Issues can be gone one day and on the next.

So be careful with yourself it can lead to some serious problems.
There are ways I can help You learn to take care of yourselves and strengthen up again.
To become empowered by knowing that were hypermobile and that there are ways to ease our pain.

So please share this with your family or friends who may need to look in this direction for medical guidance. I’m happy to do telemedicine consultations.
